July 9th

The Catslide roof at the rear of the house now gets the tiling treatment. This roof is twice the size as the front.

This is the tile detail. 3 layes of fibre cement slate, each one held in place with two copper nails and a copper rivet.

Tiling round the roof windows takes an age - each one is cut specially and has to fitted with soakers. Some tiles need to be cut from double tiles in order to avoid thin strips of tiles next to the window.

Dil completes the gabion wall on one side of the garden.
